The production of greenhouse vegetables in the Nizhny Novgorod region has doubled compared to last year. This was announced by the Minister of Agriculture and Food Resources of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Nikolai Denisov.
“In recent years, the greenhouse vegetable growing industry has been actively developing in the region, which is due to a significant investment boom. In 2020, the Gorkovsky agricultural complex implemented a project on the territory of Nizhny Novgorod for the production of vegetables using the light culture technology, which allows growing products all year round. At the end of 2021, the Nizhegorodsky greenhouse complex is launching a similar project on Bor. This gives the region a significant increase in production and reduces dependence on imported products,” said Nikolay Denisov.
Vegetable production in the Nizhny Novgorod region is currently carried out by 4 greenhouse complexes with a total area of ​​​​about 40.8 hectares: OJSC Agrokombinat Gorkovsky (18.5 hectares), LLC TK Nizhegorodsky (17.3 hectares), OJSC Dzerzhinskoye (4 .5 ha), Agrocomplex “Doskino” (0.45 ha).
“Since the beginning of this year, greenhouse enterprises in the region have produced 20,000 tons of vegetable products, which is twice as much as last year. This is another contribution to our food security,” Nikolai Denisov emphasized.
Since the beginning of 2022, the region has produced 15.3 thousand tons of cucumbers, 3.3 thousand tons of tomatoes and 1.3 thousand tons of greens for salads.
To support greenhouse enterprises, there is state support in the form of reimbursement of 15% of the cost of purchasing energy resources. For agricultural enterprises that work on the technology of “light culture”, an additional subsidy is provided for 1 ton of manufactured products.
Recall that 5.6 billion rubles of subsidies are provided to support agricultural enterprises and the development of rural areas of the Nizhny Novgorod region this year, of which 4.9 billion rubles have already been transferred to agricultural enterprises. Funds are directed to field work; melioration; reimbursement of part of the costs associated with the acquisition of machinery and equipment; elite seed production; support for producers of milk, vegetables, grain; personnel support and other areas.
